Gift Aid

GIFT AID

Many people give very generously to the work of Thurrock Christian Fellowship, which is a Registered UK Charity. The government recognises the good work that charities and churches such as ours undertake, and have introduced a scheme whereby it will give 28 pence in every pound given to a charity by a UK taxpayer. This scheme is called 'Gift Aid', and means for every £1 you give to us we can claim the extra 28p from the government at no cost to you whatsoever. The tax can be reclaimed on any financial gift or contribution to TCF.

There are 2 very simple rules that enable this to happen;

1. You need to be a UK taxpayer.
2. You need to complete a very simple form which will
enable us to start claiming tax from the government. You can fill in the form here.

If you choose to fill in the declaration, please keep us informed of any changes to your personal details. i.e name, address, etc.

You can cancel the declaration at any time by notifying us - it will then not apply to donations you make on or after the date of cancellation or such later date as you specify.

You must pay an amount of tax and/or capital gains in tax at least equal to the tax that the charity reclaims on your donations in the tax year.

If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income, or capital gains, equal to the tax that the charity reclaims, you can cancel your declaration.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment Tax Return.

If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief please ask us, or you can ask your local tax office for leaflet IR113 Gift Aid for more information.

Thank you for your support.
