HOPE

HOPE:  Helping Overcome Peoples Emotions in grief is a Grief Support Programme offered to those who have suffered bereavement. It was founded by West & Co. Funeral Directors in response to their responsibility to care for the bereaved, not only during the funeral but also afterwards.

HOPE works as a six-week programme designed to help and support people in a group environment and show that there is hope for the future. As a group, we explore the grief process and work through the many emotions and adjustments, which will be faced in the future. Among the topics discussed are:-

Thurrock Christian Fellowship has facilitated a number of these short term programmes over the past 2 years in conjunction with West & Co. Peter and Mary Howe were trained by West & Co. and work with them still to provide a safe and friendly environment where people can find support and encouragement on their daily walk with bereavement. Some on the courses are facing the very new experience of living without a loved one; others have been on the road for several years but the course adapts itself to each situation, which is unique.

The next course is starting on Thursday 11th February 2010 7.00pm in the Conference Room of Thurrock Christian Fellowship, Chase Road, Corringham.

Following this the next course will then take place from Thursday 8th April 2010.

WHILST WE MUST NEVER MINIMISE THE PAIN AND THE DIFFICULTY OF GRIEF, WE NEED TO HOLD ON TO THE HOPE THAT SOME DAY THE PAIN WILL SUBSIDE AND LIFE WILL HAVE MEANING AGAIN.
