Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas appeal with a heritage of over 19 years. Every year Operation Christmas Child is made possible through the amazing support of thousands of children and adults in the UK. Last year alone we had the joy of sending 1.2 million shoeboxes packed full of goodies to children in parts of Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe (now that’s something to get excited about!).

The amazing thing about Operation Christmas Child is that it not only puts a smile on a child’s face at Christmas, but it’s also a great way for churches overseas – and churches here in the UK – to reach out to their community.

Myself & Gary Jones had the opportunity to see this first hand last year after spending a week in Kosovo delivering the boxes to children & family’s and are returning again this year with a small team to see those smiles again.  If you would like to know more or want to get involved please contact me @ shoebox@thurrockcf.org.uk.
