Kosovo Trip 2009Sam is 11 years old and came on his first mission trip with us to Kosova in August 2009. Sam travelled with his dad, they arrived a couple of days earlier than the main team, and then left a few days earlier. Here is Sam's diary for that week!
Wednesday 22nd July 2009 Me and Dad arrived at Prsitina Airport. Steve, Simeon and Elliot picked us up and took us to the house we were staying in Gjakova. We got settled down and had a kebab and later went and sat on the balcony. We also went to Brekoc and a church service for the gypsy kids. We met a little one who was about 3 or 4 who wanted to arm wrestle us (so we let him win!) Thursday 23rd July 2009 On Thursday we went to meet Rosa and her family and we planned where to put the water tanks. In the evening we went to another gypsy site call Skivjan and did another church meeting. Dad and Steve showed how to play 'Cat and Mouse'. I also saw a man walk through the site with some cows. We also went for a burger with Faton. Friday 24th July 2009 Me and Dad made up the beds in the basement for the lads. Team arrive at 5:35pm 7 'o clock we went out for a youth meeting at Faton's Church. Jason, Bridget and Sophie shared their testimony, then we went to 'Scorpion' for dinner. Saturday 25th July 2009 Some of the team, me and Dad went to Bajram Curri for the day, played games with the kids and did a church meeting. Sunday 26th July 2009 At 10 'o clock we went to church and Dad played the keyboard and did a talk. For luch we went to 'Scorpion' again. In the evening we did a street evngelism meeting in Gjakova. Monday 27th July 2009 We went to a gypsy Kolony and the lived on a rubbish tip. Monkey came and they loved him. We went to some houses to see how people lived. Tuesday 28th July 2009 On Tuesday we went to M.sefus street (Gypsy Street) and played games and did a church meeting for them. Monkey came as well. At 7pm we did a Bible Study at the church and Martin did the talk and a game where we had to run around looking for different places. Then we went to 'Scorpion'. Wednesday 29th July 2009 I went to Skivan for a little while and played games with the kids. At 2 'o clock Steve took us to the airport we got on the plane and arrived home to Gatwick airport. The three things I remember most are: Playing with the children Visting people's homes Seeing how people lived. |
