Slum Survivor

Slum Survivor

On Saturday 26th Oct 10 young people from or related to our fellowship built a slum in the Corringham car park.

Slum survivor, an initiative from Soul Action encouraged us to identify with 'THE LAST, THE LEAST AND THE LOST'.

One billion people live in slum conditions everyday.

So the young people could learn some of the problems the Last, Least and Lost face all the time they lived out side and had very little food. No home comforts and even, no deodorant!

They had studies through the day that tackled tough subjects that affect the poorest in our world. These times were used to pray and understand how God feels about the poor.

Thirdly they raised money that will go to help slum dwellers in
and .

Well done to the slummers. You set us all a fine example. We do not have a total yet for the money raised but I am hoping for around £500.

Please put your sponsor money into the offering marked Slum Survivor.

Thanks to all who helped, we could not have done it without you.

Thanks to those who gave money, we will let you know a final figure soon.

However if you missed the offering do give your money in the usual channels

Thanks again Sally and Glenda
